NEW YORK – At this year’s HX: The Hotel Experience Powered by AAHOA (scheduled for Nov. 14-15, 2021 at the Javits Center in New York), attendees will see a number of air purification units throughout the show floor. Courtesy of Dallas-based Pure Wellness, the units will be removing pollutants from the air and helping keep exhibitors and attendees safe.
“The 950P air purifiers are using DFS Disinfection Filtration System technology from Healthway, manufactured in Pulasky, New York, to remove ultrafine particles from the air and keep viral transmission at bay,” says Brian Shedd senior vice president, Sales & Marketing, Pure Wellness. “Hotels nationwide are using these units to create a safer environment for meetings and event attendees as well as capture lucrative MICE business in their market.”
Pure Wellness will also be exhibiting at HX: The Hotel Experience, so attendees will have the opportunity to chat with company officials in-person about the on-site units. HX: The News sat down with Shedd to learn more about the company’s origins, goals, and plans for the future.
HX: The News: What are the company’s origins?
Brian Shedd senior vice president, Sales & Marketing, Pure Wellness: Pure Wellness was founded 15 years ago on the premise that hotel guests who suffered from allergies would gladly pay a premium for a better night’s rest in a room free of any irritants. That turned out to be true, and today there are thousands of Pure Wellness premium rooms in every major hotel brand nationwide.
HX: The News: Why did you decide to exhibit at HX: The Hotel Experience?
Shedd: Today Pure Wellness has a significant presence in the hotel industry through our Pure Room product as well as commercial real estate via our Pure Office product. HX provides a great venue for us to connect with current hotel clients and meet new prospects while showcasing the Pure Room program.
HX: The News: Why should attendees visit your booth?
Shedd: At the Pure Wellness booth, we’ll have multimedia to give HX attendees an inside look at the patented 7-Step process that goes into creating a Pure Room and the sophisticated technology behind our air purification that removes 99.99% of all airborne particulate matter down to .003 microns. That’s an important statistic given the COVID-19 particle is .01 microns in size.
HX: The News: What is your level of optimism about the future of the hotel industry?
Shedd: It’s exciting to see the continuous improvement in hotel occupancy nationwide that we’re seeing this year. Some destinations, such as coastal resorts, are already at pre-pandemic occupancy and ADR levels. I think we’ll see a full recovery by the end of 2022.
