AAHOA Preps Stellar Educational Lineup | The Hotel Experience

NEW YORK, NY – The full roster of panelists slated to speak at HX: The Hotel Experience is not quite ready for official release, but the show has unveiled the excellent topics that will be on offer, powered by the Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA). Glenn Haussman, creator and founder of the No Vacancy Network, New York, NY, will be presenting on Data and Trends in Development: Understanding Current Hospitality Trends and Forecasting for the U.S. Pipeline.

As a familiar face at hotel industry events, Haussman and Bruce Ford (senior vice president of Lodging Econometrics) will not shy away from market realities, instead opting to take a realistic look at long-term prospects. “As the hotel industry begins to fall off peak levels, it’s time to investigate new strategies and opportunities to find success in the coming years,” says Haussman. “During our session, we’re going to be talking about all of the latest numbers and trends that will inform us on the direction the industry is going and how to leverage that insight and make your business more successful.”

Haussman acknowledges that while the industry has been on an “amazing ten year run,” rates have been pushed as much as they can. “The expenses to run hotels are starting to really climb as every single supplier is raising prices and labor costs are continuing to go up,” he says. “Hoteliers these days are finding themselves pinched in the middle between rising costs and an inability to keep pushing rates, and that is going to start having a deleterious effect on profits as we go forward, even as the rev par and the monthly amount we can charge for hotels continues to go up and down depending on what market you are in.”

For those who balk at the idea of traveling to the Big Apple, Haussman is adamant: “The value of trade shows in 2019 goes far beyond the ability to see the latest products and services,” he enthuses. “HX offers a clear opportunity to get inside information from industry peers. If you stay home, you won’t be able to have those networking opportunities that will really give you insight to where we are truly headed. I always like to go back to: You don’t know what you don’t know until you get into it.”
