NEW YORK, NY – With HX: The Hotel Experience Powered by AAHOA less than two weeks away, anticipation is growing for all aspects of the show, with the Foodservice Pioneering Concept (FPC) providing an additional hint of mystery. Dubbed Duality, the FPC is relying on several manufacturers to provide pieces of the puzzle.
One such manufacturer is Hoshizaki America, a mainstay in the ice machine category. According to Jack Pacino, DCVP Distribution Center, Hoshizaki America, Peach Tree City, Ga., Hoshizaki is providing two chef bases (under-the-counter refrigeration) for Duality.
“Our claim to fame with Hoshizaki is our ice machines,” Pacino acknowledges. “We also manufacture all types of refrigeration—one-door, two-door, and three-door refrigeration and freezers, plus prep tables and chef bases, and under-counter refrigeration. A lot of people say, ‘You make a great ice machine, but we didn’t even know you sell refrigeration.’ We’ve been in the refrigeration business for a long time.”
In Duality, Pacino sees an opportunity to be involved with food service consultants as well as a chance to contribute to a genuinely new project. “The Duality area of the floor has a virtual reality headset that they’re going to use where you can look at kitchen of the future,” Pacino enthuses. “We’re excited to be a part of that.”
Even with an already stellar reputation in the hospitality community, officials at Hoshizaki are hoping to grow awareness among consultants who don’t know about the company’s local distribution and full lineup of refrigeration products. “We have warehouses in the greater New York area but also worldwide,” Pacino says. “We have distribution everywhere.”
