Foodservice Pioneering Concept Call for Entries – Deadline May 29; General Call for Presentations Deadline is May 31 | The Hotel Experience

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Attention designers, architects, and creatives: HX: The Hotel Experience Powered by AAHOA is looking for a relevant, customer-focused, revenue-generating foodservice concept design that can open and operate in an under-utilized location within a hotel or resort. We call it the Foodservice Pioneering Concept (FPC) competition, and it’s an opportunity to use your imagination to create cutting-edge, trend-setting concepts in foodservice. The deadline for entries has been extended to May 29, so you have a bit more time.

“The situation surrounding COVID-19 continues to change everyone’s business and personal routines daily,” says Marsha Diamond, project director. “We recognize all businesses are dealing with a new reality. However, it may be a great time to connect with your team or business partners to lead innovation transformation. No limits, no budget just creative ideas and collaboration. Check out this opportunity to shine and be recognized. Submission guidelines are available on the FPC call for entries page.”

“We rarely get to design based on what we want to do,” said Joseph Schumaker, FCSI, founder and president of FoodSpace, and winner of last year’s contest. “As design consultants, our bread and butter is designing spaces for our clients based on their needs. We get to be creative, but we don’t have ultimate oversight. This experience allowed me to really just do whatever I wanted, with a blank canvas. That was really cool and unique.”

Conceive, create and rough-design your most edgy idea for:
• a revenue-generating foodservice concept that can open and operate in an under-used, nontraditional location in a hotel or resort;
• lobbies, courtyards, hallways, concourses or any high-traffic space not specifically outfitted to foodservice; and
• locations where access to water is limited and ventilation and gas connections are non-existent.

The selected concept will be built as a scalable, life-sized, working “set” located on the show floor at the Javits Center in New York (Nov. 8-9, 2020). The working model will be an actual gathering place for food and equipment demonstrations during the show.

You’ll need these elements
• concept narrative describing your vision;
• concept sketch with your vision in a color rendering; and
• floor plan, elevation, and equipment list.

What is the prize? HX: The Hotel Experience Powered by AAHOA will pay your travel and hotel expenses to supervise installation of the project and to attend the Show, Nov. 5-10. In addition to industry recognition, your concept will be promoted in show communication and collateral, and be featured in a future issue of Foodservice Equipment and Supplies magazine. Your winning concept will be featured in three issues of HX: The News and your company will have ads in the HX directory. You will have the opportunity to present a seminar at HX and HX will create a video interview with you to run on both FES and HX. You’ll have the opportunity to describe your concept vision and the equipment that enables it. Lead generation from attendees who visit the concept installation at HX will be shared with you.

New Deadline for HX Call for Presentations is May 31

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Due to the COVID-19 crisis, we all need a bit of extra time. With that in mind, if you’re interested in speaking at HX 2020 Powered by AAHOA, you now have a few more weeks to ponder and submit a presentation.

HX includes a two-day conference for hospitality owners, asset managers, GMs and executive teams of hotels, resorts, restaurants, and casinos.

In addition to the conference, the expo will feature educational sessions that take place on stage on the trade show floor. Please review and follow guidelines before submitting your proposals.

All proposals are carefully reviewed by the HX Conference team, and while we would like to be able to accommodate all session requests, space is limited. We look forward to reviewing your submissions because the Nov. 8-9, 2020 show at the Javits Center is still on.

The new deadline for submissions is May 31, 2020.
